Kirk Miller
In Memoriam

Kirk Miller was Dr. Bera-Miller’s husband and the practice’s Operations Manager. He passed away, peacefully, on July 6, 2019 from colon cancer after seven years of conventional and integrative medical treatment and with some cancer-free intervals during those years. It is because of him and his support that her practice exists.

Kirk held a B.S. degree in Economics from the University of California Santa Barbara and a M.B.A. from California State University Hayward. He had 35 years experience in business as a Controller, CFO, and COO of companies such as Sysco and the GNU Group and he also had worked as an Options Market Maker on the floor of the Pacific Options Exchange.  With his knack for envisioning and creating things both at home and at work, he was instrumental in helping her envision and implement first her small solo practice in Lafayette and then Pacific Integrative and Functional Medicine in San Ramon.

Kirk also dearly loved spending time with their children as well as construction / home improvement projects, basketball and following the Warriors, motorcycle trips, and sailing. He will continue to be remembered for making his kids, wife, and friends laugh with his dry sense of humor. Dr. Bera-Miller is carrying forward her work in tribute to Kirk and all other individuals with chronic illnesses who can benefit from an Integrative/Functional Medicine approach to healing and health.
