Though Rashana is not licensed to practice medicine in the U.S., she practices as a holistic/integrative practitioner on the PIFM team working closely with Dr. Bera-Miller to address patients’ symptoms and conditions. Her focus is on using natural therapies, instead of medications, to heal. She is well versed in utilizing information (e.g. diagnoses and lab results) from patients’ primary care and/or other physicians, in guiding natural holistic treatment. Through diet, lifestyle, herbal, mind body and other individualized recommendations, she has helped patients lower and eliminate need for all types of medications including steroids and medications for sleep, anxiety, hypertension and high cholesterol to name just a few. Besides consulting with Dr. Bera-Miller she collaborates also with the other members of the PIFM team to help patients reach their health goals.
Rashana is certified by the Council for Homeopathic Certification (CCH) in the United States and holds an advanced diploma as an Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner (AWP) from Kerala Ayurveda Academy. She currently teaches at the Ayurvedic Institute – Ayuvidya College of America in Mountain View, California. Having practiced different forms of meditation for the past 20 years, she offers meditation sessions to her patients in a group or one-on-one basis. Rashana is also a certified Reiki Master (a system of energy healing originated in Japan) and offers Reiki training and initiation.
Rashana grew up using these natural therapies and now passionately follows and practices them. She has helped many people heal and gain back their health and happiness. She has also given multiple talks and seminars to spread the awareness about the holistic avenues for health.
Rashana lives in San Ramon, California with her husband and two children. She loves traveling, hiking, biking, swimming, singing, and inviting friends and family to her home. One of her favorite things on the list is cooking. She routinely offers classes on Ayurvedic cooking and is currently also pursuing writing a book, Ayurvedic Nutrition: My Pharmacy My Kitchen.
Finally she is actively involved in charity work to help kids in Nepal. She eagerly waits her yearly trips to Nepal, when she visits many schools there and provides them with needed funds.
“We have tremendous potential to heal ourselves through our own consciousness. All we need to do is to connect to our inner self and let that be the beacon for us. As a practitioner, I catalyze this process of connection and healing evolves through the individual's own innate potential.”
