Catherine Wang MD
Catherine Wang is a family physician and mother of two daughters. A graduate of University of Pennsylvania with a dual degree in Biology and Sociology, Catherine then attended UMDNJ- New Jersey Medical School where she was the student director of a free medical clinic for the underserved and started an elective to teach medical students about integrative medicine. She trained at the UCSF Family and Community Medicine residency, where she continued to work with the underserved and immigrant population. Since completing her residency training in 2001, Catherine has been working in private practice in Walnut Creek. During her years of practice, she recognized her lack of education in nutrition so committed herself to further education through the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM) and other seminars. She has completed almost all of the IFM modules towards certification.
Dr. Wang has a strong passion for health and wellness and enjoys helping others achieve their health goals. She is always learning ways to improve others' health and enjoys teaching her patients lifestyle changes that can change their lives and reverse chronic disease. She believes that food is medicine and that prevention is key. Recently, Catherine founded Nourish EMB, a wellness website that encourages others to eat well, move more, and breathe.
Dr. Wang is an avid runner, hiker, and tennis player and enjoys spending time in the outdoors. She also enjoys cooking, photography and art.
